Fenway’s Future: Red Sox Prospects Luis Perales, Stanley Tucker Named 2025 AFL Fall Stars.vc

Two Red Sox prospects, one a late-round underdog and the other a fireballer returning from Tommy John, have been named to the league’s prestigious All-Star showcase this Sunday.

BOSTON — In the sun-baked diamonds of the Arizona Fall League, where baseball’s next generation hones their craft, two Boston Red Sox prospects have stolen the spotlight.
Right-hander Luis Perales and utility man Stanley Tucker, two players who had been flying under the radar, have been named 2025 “Fall Stars.” The selection earns them a coveted spot in the league’s prestigious All-Star showcase game, which is set for 8 p.m. Eastern this Sunday.

For Red Sox fans, the game is a must-watch event, a potential preview of brighter days at Fenway Park.
Stanley Tucker: The Underdog Revelation
Tucker, 23, has been the underdog story of the AFL. Drafted in the 19th round in 2023 out of Texas A&M, the outfielder wasn’t a household name. But in 20 games with the Salt River Rafters, Tucker has been a revelation.
He is slashing .288/.397/.333 and has been a disruptive force on the bases, swiping 12 bags in 14 attempts. His advanced plate discipline (12 walks to 19 strikeouts) and 14 RBIs show a player who is thriving, not just surviving, against elite competition.
Luis Perales: The Fireballer’s Comeback
The story for Luis Perales is one of resilience. At just 22, Perales is already Boston’s No. 8 prospect (per Baseball America) and a member of the 40-man roster.

His path, however, has been grueling. After undergoing Tommy John surgery on June 27, 2024, Perales missed nearly 15 months of action. He made a triumphant return on September 13, 2025, logging three brief starts between Double-A Portland and Triple-A Worcester before heading to Arizona.
In the AFL, Perales has focused on rebuilding his rhythm. While his ERA (9.58 in 10.1 innings) is inflated, the “stuff” is not. He has fanned 16 batters, and, most importantly, his fastball has touched a blistering 101.1 mph.

These reps are about shaking off the rust, and his performance has been strong enough to earn an All-Star nod. MassLive recently spotlighted Perales as one of seven Red Sox prospects poised to make their MLB debut in 2026, a clear sign that the organization believes he is ready for the next level.
As the Fall Stars Game approaches, these two prospects embody the excitement of baseball’s developmental pipeline, unleashing Fenway’s future—one pitch and one stolen base at a time.
