Jalen Hurts Just Revealed What’s Been Fueling Him—And It’s Every Vikings Fan’s Worst Nightmare.QQ
There haven’t been many special performances this season from Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, but he had one against the Minnesota Vikings that was one for the ages.
While there were moments in the first half where the offense struggled to get anything going, Hurts was the one constant that was able to at least be consistent throughout the contest. One difference from this game from the others in 2025? The deep ball plays.
Next Gen Stats tracked that Hurts completed all five of his deep ball passes of 20 or more yards for 215 yards and three touchdowns. He hit DeVonta Smith on the longest play of the game for 79 yards, while hitting A.J. Brown on the other two.
Hurts finished the game with a perfect quarterback rating of 158.3, throwing for 326 yards on just four incompletions and three touchdowns in the 28-22 win over the Vikings. It was about as near-perfect a game as Hurts has ever had in his NFL career.
What fueled Hurts to have the kind of game he did
After the game, Hurts answered the $1 million question on what got him to go above and beyond like he did against the Vikings. For Hurts, it’s as simple as the desire to win.
“The feeling of losing, simple as that. I know there’s a clip to confirm where I said, we’re not losers anymore. That’s all I could think about during the last two weeks. … I think definitely there was some fire there. But within that fire, you have to be the calm.”
It’s easy to see that to win, Hurts has won nearly 70% of his games as a starter in the NFL with a 51-22 record. Every week, the media rips on Hurts for how he plays, but he keeps finding ways to win.
