A Saquon Barkley Card Just Shattered Records at Auction and Collectors Can’t Believe the Final Price

After a historic season in his first year with the Philadelphia Eagles, Saquon Barkley mania continues to run wild for the former Penn State running back. And collectors in the card-collecting hobby are shelling out some big bucks to get their hands on some high-profile Barkley trading cards.
The bar has officially been set for a Barkley card after a 2018 card sold at auction for a reported $42,550. The previous record price for a Barklet trading card was $26,840, which was set earlier this year. The big-ticket card is a 2018 Prizm Black Finite 1/1 card.
This is supposedly one of the more sought after cards in the hobby, and Barkley’s rise in NFL prominence over the past year certainly helps raise the value of the card and its desirability. Barkley became just the
Barkley set an NFL record for the most rushing yards in a season between the regular season and the playoffs, and he was the ninth running back in NFL history to rush for 2,000 yards in the regular season. Barkley rushed for 499 yards in the postseason on the Eagles’ run to the second Super Bowl in franchise history.
Barkley was recently named the No. 1 player in the NFL’s top 100 players list for the 2025 season, which is voted on by NFL players. Barkley was named the AP Offensive Player of the Year for the 2024 season and is the cover athlete for this year’s version of the Madden NFL video game.
