They Thought They’d Seen His Last Show—Now John Foster’s 2026 “Stay With Us” Tour Is Sparking an Emotional Comeback. ML

Country-rock powerhouse John Foster is back. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter has unveiled plans for a sweeping 2026 reunion trek titled Stay With Us, marking his first major tour in almost a decade.
The 40-date North American run begins in Dallas, TX, and concludes in Nashville, TN, with potential international dates in discussion, according to his management.
“This tour is about getting back to the roots — music, memories, and the people who made it matter,” Foster told a packed audience during a live-streamed press conference at Ryman Auditorium.
Career Highlights and Legacy
Since his 2005 breakthrough “Hearts on Fire,” Foster has been a defining figure in modern country rock. “American Son” followed in 2008, cementing his reputation as a voice for everyday Americans, while “Stay With Us” (2010) delivered his first CMA Song of the Year win and an 18-week Billboard Country chart reign.
After retiring from the road in 2018 citing burnout, Foster refocused on family life with his wife Brooklyn Bourque and their young child. In recent years, he’s quietly written dozens of new songs that reflect maturity and spiritual depth.
What to Expect on Tour
Foster’s longtime producer Caleb Mitchell promises an evolved yet authentic sound. “He’s not chasing radio anymore,” Mitchell said. “He’s chasing something real.”
The show will blend fan favorites with unreleased material, supported by a full live choir, extended band, and special guests. A teaser trailer features Foster walking through empty arenas, narrating: “The lights may fade, the roads may change — but the song goes on.”
Industry and Fan Response
Reaction from fans and fellow artists has been overwhelmingly positive. Carrie Underwood wrote, “So proud of my brother in country.”
Streaming numbers for Foster’s back catalog spiked within hours of the announcement, and radio programmers in Nashville report a sharp uptick in listener requests.
Veteran artist Willie Nelson added a personal touch, sending a note that read, “Welcome back to the road, son.”
Giving Back
A portion of proceeds from each show will go to the Charlie Kirk Memorial Fund for Young Artists, continuing Foster’s commitment to supporting future musicians.
The Stay With Us Tour 2026 opens this spring — and if early enthusiasm is any indication, tickets will sell out in record time.
