The Philadelphia Eagles head coach, Nick Sirianni, finds himself under intense scrutiny for the way he’s handling his team after consecutive defeats. According to Zach Berman of The Athletic, much of Sirianni’s role involves handling personalities, managing assistant coaches, and maintaining locker-room culture, an area that now appears to be under strain.
“I think there’s a belief that this is a big part of Nick Sirianni’s job — managing personalities and coaches, maintaining the culture, etc,” Berman reported. “The Eagles are more similar operationally to some MLB/NBA franchises than others in NFL. The front office possesses enormous control, and a major part of the manager/coach’s job description is managing personality dynamics.”
That conclusion speaks to where Sirianni appears to be coming up short. The structure of the Eagles’ front office requires the head coach to excel in cohesion and culture as much as football philosophy. Yet the recent performance and off-field incidents indicate the Eagles’ HC has not been able to achieve that balance.

Their recent performance lacked rhythm and confidence. Execution issues were pretty visible, the disconnect between Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown. Such as during the fourth quarter vs. the Giants game, Hurts tried to go for Jahan Dotson on the sidelines instead of Brown letting an easy touchdown slip away.
The tension in the locker room is high. There were reports of a private meeting between Hurts, Brown, and Barkley. At first, Brown dismissed such claims, but later accepted that it ‘sort of happened.’ This uncertainty is a testament to the turmoil in the locker room. Sirianni, for sure, has a huge challenge of restoring belief and unity in the roster.
In response to the loss, Sirianni admitted that the Eagles “did not play their brand of football tonight,” as per John Clark of NBC Sports. He said that he is going to “harp on and focus on the details” during the next mini-bye week and will be “relentless” at making execution better.
Despite the critique, the Super Bowl-winning HC kept his voice even, referring to last season when the Eagles had a similar start: “We’ve been here before. Last year, we started off 4-2. Just a different way that we got there. So, there is no panic on us.”
However, there’s a visible disconnect between players, inconsistent effort, and public questioning of leadership roles. Sirianni’s biggest test may not be fixing the playbook, but re-establishing control of the locker room.
As internal chemistry concerns rise, attention now turns to the future of wide receiver A.J. Brown.
Trade rumors surrounding the Eagles’ WR continue to evolve. However, most insiders believe that there are fewer chances of any potential trade. But there’s one voice that strongly believes that there are chances of a trade. As reported by Dianna Russini of The Athletic, one AFC GM believes that Howie Roseman might make a move.
“I think [Eagles general manager] Howie [Roseman] moves him,” Russini quoted an AFC team’s GM. “It would have to be for the right player or pick, but (a trade) wouldn’t surprise me. Howie likes deals, especially if a player’s value overrides how Brown is being used.”
Nevertheless, Russini continued by saying that she has difficulty envisioning Roseman trading away a player of Brown’s caliber. Roseman is accustomed to bringing in elite talent, not losing it, and the team is still wedded to establishing around Hurts’ best playmakers.
According to Sporting News, the Bolts might be interested in adding A.J.Brown to their roster. Because the Chargers do not have someone who can stretch the field at an elite level for them, adding Brown opposite Ladd McConkey can be a solution for the Chargers.
“Brown doesn’t look frustrated or mad — he looks indifferent. And that’s not a good place to be,” an NFL source explained to Russini. That lack of attachment, along with diminishing production, has fueled outside rumors about Brown’s contentment in Philadelphia.
If there’s any trade, then DeVonta Smith will become the number one wide receiver for the Eagles. As of now, he is leading in receiving yards with 321 yards. However, there is still some serious concern about the WR depth because this year, Jahan Dotson and John Metchie are the only other receivers with a reception. This shows the overdependence of the offense.
