Sydney Sweeney stuns braless on the red carpet, and Jamie Lee Curtis’s response has everyone talking.NN

Jamie Lee Curtis had an immaculate compliment for Sydney Sweeney.

The “Halloween” actress, 66, was on Variety’s 2025 Power of Women red carpet Wednesday when the “Euphoria” star’s daring dress caught her eye.

Sweeney, 28, went braless in a form-fitting Christian Cowan x Elias Matso crystal gown with her blond bob sleekly styled around her face.

In an Entertainment Tonight video, Curtis can be seen pointing up and down at the “Anyone But You” actress in awe before wrapping her in a hug.

Curtis, for her part, was famously nicknamed “The Body” early on in her career for her work in projects such as “Trading Places” and “Perfect.” In 2010, she was asked about the label during an interview with CBS.

“No, no. I don’t think anyone likes to be known for something that’s exterior. I don’t believe it,” she said at the time. “I don’t think any woman wants to be known for being beautiful or busty. I think you want to be known for who you are.”

Sweeney, meanwhile, was honored at the gala as one of the outlet’s cover stars.

A day prior, the Emmy-nominated actress spoke with Variety about the backlash she received surrounding her appearance before rising to fame.

“I had someone tell me to fix my face or else I’m not going to make it. I should get Botox. I was 16!” Sweeney recalled. “Or I’m in a casting and I’m reading my scene and the casting director is eating a bag of chips, and I’m like, ‘You’re not paying attention at all.’ ”

But the commentary hasn’t influenced the star to try out any cosmetic procedures.

“I’ve never gotten anything done. I’m absolutely terrified of needles. No tattoos. Nothing. I’m going to age gracefully,” Sweeney confirmed.

There are many side-by-side photos of the “Immaculate” actress floating around the internet. One picture shows a younger Sweeney while the other image shows the Washington native now.

Online critics have used the shots to prove Sweeney had work done, to which she explained: “It’s really funny.. I’m like, ‘I’m 12 in that photo. Of course, I’m going to look different. I have makeup on now and I’m 15 years older.’ “

Despite internet trolls, Sweeney admitted that keeping up on the online chatter is sometimes necessary.

“I think it’s important to have a finger on the pulse of what people are saying, because everything is a conversation with the audience,” Sweeney told the Wall Street Journal in August.

In June, Sweeney faced backlash for her partnership with Dr. Squatch. At the time, she released a limited-edition line of bar soaps made from her bathwater.

“It was mainly the girls making comments about it, which I thought was really interesting,” she detailed to the publication. “They all loved the idea of Jacob Elordi’s bathwater.”

Her “Euphoria” co-star, 28, starred in “Saltburn” opposite Barry Keoghan in 2023. In one scene, the Irish actor’s character Oliver drank bathwater after Elordi’s Felix pleasured himself in the tub.

Fans ended up creating a “Bathwater Candle” inspired by the scene.

Sweeney’s bathwater, however, didn’t gain the same kind of traction.

“I think it’s more fun to see everyone else talk about it,” she coyly confessed to E! News at the time, noting that the soap was made because “I pitched it.”

However, Sweeney found herself in hot water once again due to her American Eagle partnership, which launched in July. Her “Sydney Sweeney has great jeans” campaign sparked a debate about race and beauty standards.

Critics focused on the use of the word “genes” instead of “jeans” when discussing the blond, blue-eyed star.

Social media users felt the ad promoted eugenics.

“Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality and even eye color,” Sweeney said in the American Eagle campagin. “My jeans are blue.”

American Eagle quickly defended the company’s choice.

“ ‘Sydney Sweeney has great jeans’ is and always was about the jeans,” the clothing brand said in a statement. “Her jeans. Her story. We’ll continue to celebrate how everyone wears their AE jeans with confidence, their way. Great jeans look good on everyone.”

Sweeney, who is wrapping filming on the third and final season of “Euphoria,” never directly responded to the controversy.

“I was freaking out because I was like, ‘This is perfect,’ and I was so excited,” Sweeney shared to People about finding out she landed the brand deal.

“When they were like, ‘We want it to be a denim campaign,’ I was through the roof. I was like, ‘This is it. This is Syd. I will be able to bring this to life. You have no idea.’ ”
