Willie Nelson is canceling a major date on his tour after bad weather ruined his equipment.
The 92-year-old musician was the headliner for the 2025 Outlaw Music Festival with Bob Dylan, Sheryl Crow, and more until âextreme weatherâ caused the anniversary concert event to be canceled.Â

âThe Outlaw Music Festivalâs 10th Anniversary concert event scheduled for July 1, 2025 at Lucky Star Amphitheater in El Reno, OK has been canceled due to unforeseeable circumstances,â a statement shared to the festivalâs official Instagram account read.
âAn extreme weather event on the evening of June 29th in Ridgedale, MO at Thunder Ridge Nature Arena produced heavy rains and high winds forcing the crowd to evacuate,â the statement continued.Willie Nelson, October 2024.

Because of the weather, organizers said much of the scheduled performers’ âequipment and artistsâ instruments were damaged and waterlogged, making their condition difficult to assess in time to accurately and safely use for tomorrowâs show.â
The decision was made to cancel Tuesdayâs show to recover and replace whatever was needed to continue additional dates.
âBlackbird Presents, Lucky Star Amphitheater, and DCF Concerts are disappointed to have to cancel the engagement and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this cancellation may cause,â the company said, adding that refunds would be issued.
Nelson shared the same message to his Instagram account.
His comment section was filled with fans asking if Trigger, his famous guitar, was okay after the extreme weather incident. A rep tells PEOPLE that “Trigger is safe” after all.

For the 2024 show, Nelson shared a statement in a press release to express his excitement regarding the forthcoming concerts.
âThis year’s Outlaw Music Festival Tour promises to be the biggest and best yet with this lineup of legendary artists. I am thrilled to get back on the road again with my family and friends playing the music we love for the fans we love,” the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer said at the time.
However, he later missed the opening show due to “not feeling well.”
âWe regret to inform you that Willie Nelson is not feeling well and, per doctorâs orders, has been advised to rest for the next four days,â read a statement published on Nelsonâs X account. âHe is expected to make a full recovery and join the Outlaw Music Festival tour next week.â
The âAlways on My Mindâ singer and other artists included on the 2025 lineup are expected to resume the show in Austin, Texas, on July 4.
