With one warning Jimmy Fallon reminds ‘Saturday Night Live UK’ stars that this isn’t a stepping stone — it’s the dream itself.NH

Jimmy Fallon has offered some advice to the comedians who will soon be treading the boards of Saturday Night Live UK, warning them to “treat it like the destination that it is”.
A British version of the famous US sketch show is currently in the works at Sky, with the launch reportedly scheduled for some time in 2026. However, with very few American TV comedy formats having previously worked when they were transferred to the UK, Fallon felt he had some advice to provide.
In a new interview given to Deadline, he said, “If you get lucky and get cast, I would just focus on the show. Don’t think about the next move, or if you are going to be a movie star from this. Don’t treat it as a launching pad, treat it as the end game.”
Before going on to host his late night chat show further on in his career, Fallon had initially made his name on the US comedy circuit by being cast as one of the core members of SNL from 1998 until 2004.
As a result, his words of wisdom to any budding comics looking to get cast in the UK version revolved around living in the moment of the show. “This is the prize: Saturday Night Live UK,” he added.
“If you concentrate and make that show the best, and be the best performer on that show, other things will come, but that’s a different conversation. Treat it like the destination that it is.”
The UK version of SNLis reportedly set to follow much of the same comedic and musical format as its US counterpart, with its boss, Lorne Michaels, also set to serve as its executive producer.
However, since Sky were given the green light for the series from Comcast, the company that owns NBC and Saturday Night Live, no details on its casting have yet been revealed.
