The petition was launched by Kar Shell, who believes the NFL should prioritize unity and tradition in its entertainment choices. “Bad Bunny represents none of these values,” Shell stated. “His drag performances and flamboyant style are not what families expect during such a major American event.”
George Strait, 73, remains a beloved figure in the country music world, often referred to as the “King of Country.” His supporters argue that he embodies a more wholesome, all-American image that’s fitting for the Super Bowl’s broad audience.
In addition to the main petition, another pro-Strait petition has drawn over 1,300 signatures, amplifying calls for a more “family-friendly” alternative to Bad Bunny’s act.
Meanwhile, Bad Bunny, known for pushing boundaries in Latin Trap music, responded to critics during an appearance on Saturday Night Live. In his signature unapologetic style, he said: “You have four months [until the Super Bowl] to learn Spanish.”
