New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo exited Sunday’s divisional matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles early after sustaining a gruesome injury following a tackle by Eagles linebacker Zack Baun.
After the play, Skattebo’s right ankle was pointing the wrong way, and he was carted off.
It was announced after the game that Skattebo suffered a dislocated ankle, and the team then revealed that he elected to have surgery at a local hospital in Philadelphia.

And afterwards, he received a very special visit from an Eagles legend.
Eagles Chief of Security Dom DiSandro, also known as Big Dom, dropped off pizza and cheesesteaks for Skattebo while he was in the hospital recovering from surgery, The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Jeff McLane reported.
What an incredible and sweet gesture!
And it adds to the way Eagles fans gave Skattebo a standing ovation as he was carted off the field, a clear sign of respect despite the running back being a member of the opposing team.
Giants head coach Brian Daboll provides update on Cam Skattebo
On Monday, Giants head coach Brian Daboll spoke with reporters, providing an update on the rookie running back sensation.
“All went well, he is recovering, and obviously he’ll be missed,” Daboll said. “He’s got a long road ahead of him.”
He further added that the two had exchanged text messages on Sunday night and Monday morning.
Daboll also briefly spoke about the injury after the game.
“Yeah, feel absolutely terrible for the young man,” Daboll said. “Obviously, saw it looked bad. I know you feel for anybody on your team that goes down and has a really bad injury and … I know the players feel the same way about [Skattebo].”
This injury will sideline Skattebo for the remainder of the 2025 season, with the focus now shifting towards whether he will be ready to go by the beginning of next season.
