Jimmy Fallon surges past Kimmel on YouTube after his K-Pop Demon Hunters performance takes late-night by storm.NH

Jimmy Kimmel’s return from suspension last month gave Jimmy Kimmel Live! record ratings, and the ABC late-night show has continued to ride that wave to dominate the 11:35 p.m. timeslot for the better part of the past month.
But when it comes to online views, the pop culture juggernaut KPop Demon Hunters is leaving everyone else in the dust. A Tonight Show performance of “Golden”, featuring the three singers who voice the film’s fictional band Huntr/x, has now surpassed Kimmel’s return monologue to become YouTube’s most-viewed late-night clip of the season so far.
All told, EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami’s performance of “Golden” has racked up more than 23 million YouTube views in just twelve days, edging past Kimmel’s comeback monologue, which currently sits at 22.6 million. On TikTok, the KPop Demon Hunters trio’s performance has generated another 55 million views.
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon appearance marked the group’s first-ever live performance together—and it couldn’t have come at a hotter moment. Since its release, KPop Demon Hunters has become Netflix’s most-watched film of all time, amassing more than 350 million views worldwide and spending seventeen consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the streamer’s Top 10 list.
The film’s soundtrack debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Soundtrack chart and remains the year’s top-selling soundtrack. “Golden” itself made history as the first female K-pop single to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, holding the top spot for six weeks and also reigning over the Billboard Global 200 for ten.
The trio’s performance marks The Tonight Show’s only appearance so far in this season’s YouTube Late Night Top 10. Jimmy Kimmel Live! appears three times, while Saturday Night Live and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver appear twice. The Daily Show and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert round out the list with one appearance each—both clips featuring segments where the hosts discussed Jimmy Kimmel’s suspension.
