Iconic country music star Garth Brooks played his one and only concert of 2025 on Saturday, Oct. 18, in Austin, Texas. Following the event, which was filled with nearly 100,000 adoring fans, Brooks spoke out by way of his official website.
“They were ready at the start and never waned,” Brooks said of the fans. “They had spent all day in over 90-degree heat and still had the strength to wear my ass out! It’s ALWAYS epic to play Texas!”
At one point during the show, Brooks gave his guitar to a young fan in the crowd.
“I told the crowd, on this ship if you don’t work, you get off the ride. My guitar wasn’t working. I saw the child on his parent’s shoulders and just handed it to someone in the crowd who handed it back to someone who in turn handed it back to someone else. I watched the guitar travel on top of the crowd until it reached the young boy.” Brooks explained. “THAT story defines the country music audience. That story describes Texas.”
Brooks’ performance at the 2025 Formula 1 United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, was confirmed earlier this year.
“Garth Brooks is such an incredible entertainer, and the sounds of him and a hillside lawn of 90,000 fans singing along will make for a legendary evening,” said Bobby Epstein, chairman of Circuit of The Americas, according to the official Garth Books website.
“A fall night in Texas, with that many people singing along…” Brooks said with a laugh. “This is going to be one hell of a ride!”
Brooks will be back on the road in 2026, with a handful of upcoming show dates listed on his website. Though this isn’t a full tour, the upcoming shows give fans an opportunity to see Brooks live.
