“That’s Not True” – A.J. Brown Breaks His Silence to Set the Record Straight on Eagles Drama After Stunning Loss to Giants.QQ
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown cleared the air on what he had to say after the team’s Week 6 loss to the New York Giants on Thursday Night Football.
While speaking to reporters right after the 34-17 defeat, Brown had initially said he didn’t recall having a meeting with Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley.
Some thought he was kidding and playing with the media, while others believed he was left out of the discussion.
Here’s what Brown posted to Twitter/X on Monday afternoon:
“Just to clear this up. That wasn’t a meeting or a sit-down. I said “I don’t recall” because it got painted like there was tension and so had to step in. That’s not true. I was walking to my car, saw them, and stopped to talk. Nothing more.”
It Doesn’t Matter What A.J. Brown Said; the Eagles Aren’t on the Same Page
It doesn’t even matter what Brown had to really say. The Eagles are not on the same page, and whatever sort of meeting they did have didn’t seem to work.
The Eagles were able to look like the explosive offense fans know and love at the start of the game, but then they completely collapsed in the second half and failed to get any points on the board. That is the second straight week their offense has looked like that.
Even head coach Nick Sirianni finally admitted that the offense’s consistency and game plan has been out of whack.
“I think there were some good moments in the run game today,” Sirianni said. “Got ourselves behind the sticks a little bit in the second half on some of the runs there. So we’ll look at everything right there. We know we have the guys up front to be able to do that. Obviously, we’ve got to do a good job putting them in positions to succeed, and then we’ve got to go execute. We’ll look at everything. Running a bunch of different types of schemes, but we’ll look at everything to see what we’re doing well and treat this like a bye week here this weekend.”
It’s disappointing that the Eagles are coming off a Super Bowl run with nearly the same offense, yet seven weeks in, they still haven’t found their identity. Hopefully, the long weekend helps them regroup and get on the same page.
