Stephen Colbert Mocks South Korea for Crowning Trump Like Royalty — and the Internet Can’t Stop Laughing.NH

“They’re literally making him the Burger King.”
Donald Trump was welcomed to South Korea on Wednesday to the sounds of his unofficial MAGA rally anthem, the Village People’s “YMCA” Arriving in Gyeongju for the the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) leaders’ summit, the president’s landing was scored by a military band playing the 1978 disco song favoured by Trump at rallies and fundraisers.
And like his fellow late night show hosts Seth Meyers and Desi Lydic, Stephen Colbert had thoughts.
“I know that’s kind of his song at this point but it really undercuts the gravity of an official presidential occasion,” The Late Show host said on Wednesday night.

Colbert then moved on to South Korea’s next gesture, with President Lee Jae Myung presenting Trump with the country’s highest honor, the Grand Order of Mugunghwa, as well as a giant replica of a golden Silla Kingdom crown — notably, days after millions marched in “No Kings” protests against the president across America. In addition, the official lunch included “mini beef patties with ketchup.”
“They’re literally making him the Burger King,” said Colbert.
