Right when the Cowboys needed momentum most, fate delivered the kind of news no team wants before Denver.QQ

Tough break for the Cowboys hours away from Broncos matchup.

The Dallas Cowboys hoped to get starting center Cooper Beebe back on the field for Sunday’s matchup versus the Denver Broncos. That is not happening.
According to ESPN’s Todd Archer, Beebe’s return will have to wait another week as he’ll stay on Injured Reserve this weekend.
Beebe, who was placed on Injured Reserve following an ankle injury in Week 2, returned to practice this week and told reporters there was a chance of him playing during the Week 8 matchup. Worst case scenario, he explained, he’d play on Week 9 versus the Arizona Cardinals.

The Cowboys will miss Beebe dearly versus the Broncos
Beebe’s absence will be felt versus the Broncos. Denver’s defensive front is one of the most physical ones in the NFL and there’s no question they will zero in on backup center Brock Hoffman on Sunday. Against the Carolina Panthers in Week 6, the Cowboys felt the absence of Beebe and right guard Tyler Booker (who is playing Sunday) going up against star defensive tackle Derrick Brown and Co. It was the Cowboys’ worst rushing performance of the season, and largely because Hoffman and T.J. Bass were beaten frequently at the line of scrimmage.
While the Broncos don’t have a defensive tackle as good as Brown, it’s a solid and deep group that will challenge Hoffman all game long.
The Cowboys offense is facing its biggest challenge so far as the Broncos enter the game ranked first in defensive EPA/play. Dak Prescott is playing at an elite level but considering Denver averages five sacks per game, it will be smart to lean on the run game to take some pressure off of his shoulders. To do that efficiently, Dallas needs Hoffman to show up big time in what the team hopes is his last start of the season as Beebe approaches a return.
