The occurrence unfolded as countless Americans across the nation are questioning whether they’ll manage to board their flights during the government shutdown.

Disturbing footage of the mishap, which took place over the weekend at a gate in Terminal E of Dallas-Fort Worth Airport, reveals the employee losing command of the hose, dousing gallons of extremely combustible fuel across the aircraft and the airport tarmac. According to the video circulated on social media, it seems that fuel continued gushing from the hose for over a minute while the worker battled to regain control and retreated, reports the Mirror US.

Nobody was hurt in the incident. American Airlines released a statement saying, “We are looking into the incident with DFW Airport and the airport’s fueling contractor, Menzies, and worked together on the cleanup per procedure.”

An airport representative confirmed the spill was swiftly contained.

Following ABC World News Tonight’s Instagram post of David’s coverage, numerous viewers voiced worries about the airport employee, with several questioning why they were handling plane refueling alone. One person wrote, “Why is there only one person doing this… fueling a plane, you would think for safety precautions as such, another person would be there to shut it off in this situation.”
