Choreographer Mandy Moore reveals how she improved Taylor Swift’s dancing after the singer got a ‘bad rap’
By Jolie Zenna
Taylor Swift has been improving her moves.
Eras Tour choreographer Mandy Moore revealed the process of refining the pop star’s dancing after she got a “bad rap” for it.
“She’d gotten a bad rap for a long time about her dancing, so she was really in her head,” Moore told the New York Times on Sunday.

“We shifted the focus to how movement was already manifesting in her body — the way she naturally wanted to move. And then we fine-tuned that: ‘OK, that looks a little weird with your shoulders,’ or, ‘Let’s straighten your knee here.’”
Although dancing may not come so naturally to the Grammy winner, Moore noted that Swift is committed to her craft as a performer.
“I really admire Taylor’s tenacity. She works so hard,” the dance instructor gushed.

“Whatever I was putting down, she was picking up. And she’s very clear about what she wants, which I love. I find I can’t create unless I have some parameters. The ‘do whatever you want’ thing, for me, it just feels like chaos.”
Although the pop star has been mocked by fans for her dance moves in the past, her improvement from the help of Moore definitely showed during her epic tour.
Moore is the mastermind behind some of the Swifties’ favorite and the most iconic routines throughout the record-breaking tour, such as the burlesque-inspired routine for “Vigilante S—t,” which Moore has previously admitted is her favorite.
