Michael Harris II Powers Braves Past Nationals with Two Homers for 10th Straight Win

Michael Harris II hit two home runs, Hurston Waldrep delivered six strong innings, and the Atlanta Braves extended their winning streak to 10 games with a 3–2 victory over the Washington Nationals on Tuesday night.

Six of those victories have come against the last-place Nationals, including Atlanta’s first four-game sweep of the Washington/Montreal franchise (Sept. 15–17). Despite owning the longest active win streak in the majors, the Braves (75–83) have already been eliminated from postseason contention.

Waldrep (6–1) scattered five hits, allowing one run with four walks and five strikeouts across six innings. Raisel Iglesias worked a scoreless ninth to notch his 28th save.

Harris opened the scoring with a 444-foot blast to right-center in the fifth inning, then added a leadoff homer in the seventh to make it 3–1. Ronald Acuña Jr. also went deep in the sixth with a go-ahead solo shot, his 15th of the season.

Nationals starter Brad Lord (3–8) took the loss, allowing two runs on four hits in six innings.

The Braves, who have surged to close their 2025 campaign on a high note, will look to continue their late-season momentum as they head into their final series of the year.
