Taylor Swift Breaks Silence on Super Bowl Halftime Drama and Selena Gomez Wedding Speech in Candid Jimmy Fallon Interview.NN

The rumors are terrible and cruel, but honey, are most of them true?
Taylor Swiftfinally put online chatter to sleep during Monday’s appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”
After hyping her new album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” and gushing over her “favorite person” — fiancé Travis Kelce — Jimmy Fallon asked the singer to address a few elephants in the room.
The comedian went on to list five rumors he read online, which included Swift turning down the Super Bowl halftime show because the NFL wouldn’t allow her to own the footage, Ed Sheeran learning about her engagement on Instagram and joking about Selena Gomez beating her to the altar at the latter’s wedding.

He also brought up rumors that Swift was spotted walking a mystery dog in Florida and that Kelce could be heard harmonizing on her new track “Opalite.”
When it came time for the “Fate of Ophelia” singer to make the big reveal, she explained that only the Sheeran story was true.
“He doesn’t have a phone,” she declared.

As for the Gomez wedding discourse speculation, Swift revealed, “I did make a speech, but I actually made a point not to mention anything about my engagement.”
“I did do some light teasing about the way we used to dress in 2008 — the year we met. Because we met when we were teenagers and 2008 was quite a year, let me tell you. I talked a little about 2008, how happy I am for her and how beautiful it’s been getting to be a part of her life, but I did not make it about me.”
The talk show host then asked Swift whether she turned down the Super Bowl halftime show because the NFL wouldn’t let her own the footage.
“No!” the Grammy winner vehemently denied, explaining that she hasn’t performed at the big game because she’s too “locked in” to Kelce’s season to accept the gig.

“This is nothing to do with Travis; he would love for me to do it! I’m just too locked in,” she said.
Swift’s appearance on “The Tonight Show” marked her second TV sit-down since the release of “The Life of a Showgirl,” as she appeared on “The Graham Norton Show” the evening it dropped.
On the album, Swift — who got engaged to Kelce in August — sings about falling in love with the NFL star.
She announced her new era during her first-ever appearance on his “New Heights” podcast, which immediately preceded his proposal.
While the two were talking with his brother and co-host, Jason Kelce, Travis had a team setting up the elaborate backdrop for his romantic proposal in the garden-esque backyard of his Leawood, Kan., estate.

“He really crushed it in surprising me,” Swift, 35, gushed on “The Graham Norton Show.”
“While we were talking on his podcast, he had a complete garden built out the back of his house to propose in.”
The singer-songwriter marveled, “He went all out — 10 out of 10.”
The couple waited about two weeks before sharing the news with the world.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” they captioned a joint Instagram post that featured five photos from their dreamy engagement.

Meanwhile, Fallon, 51, hinted at Swift’s appearance on his show late last month with an Easter egg-filled teaser.
The clip showed the comedian playing roulette and placing his chips on the numbers 10 and 6, the date of Swift’s appearance.
Upon spinning the wheel, the ball landed on her favorite number: 13.
“Baby, that’s show business for ya,” Fallon said before leaving the room and entering a hallway, where he was nearly trampled by three women dressed in orange, red and pink showgirl outfits.
“Excuse us, honey,” one of them said, which fans suspected was a reference to track 11, “Honey.”
Fallon cheekily captioned the Instagram post, “Not a lot going on at the moment,” but later returned to the comments section to confirm the Grammy winner as his guest.
