Kristen Bell brushes off the anniversary post backlash with charm and wit in a revealing ‘Tonight Show’ interview.NN

Kristen Bell ignored any talk about her “tone-deaf” anniversary post during her playful appearance on the “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”

The actress kept things light on Thursday and focused on promoting Season 2 of her hit Netflix show, “Nobody Wants This,” teasing a few things that viewers can expect from the newly released season.

Although Bell, 45, avoided talking about her and husband Dax Shepard’s marriage entirely, she and Fallon did reminisce about a summer trip they all took together with their respective families.

“Can I just say, not only is that a super fun trip, but you are my favorite guest to see there,” Bell gushed over Fallon. “And I’ll tell you why. Because you have — you’re such an inspirational guest. You have a way of eventizing life that hits me in my marrow.”

She then recounted a funny memory from the trip about how the late-night host showed up to do karaoke in a “full Evel Knievel costume.”

Despite steering clear of talking about Shepard during the interview, Bell did give her “key to a successful relationship” during her appearance on SiriusXM’s “Radio Andy” Thursday amid all the backlash.

“I like being married to an actor. We understand each other’s highs and lows and excitements and complaints,” she explained to host Andy Cohen.

“We’re both creative so we can get deep into some random conversation and just feel like we’re creating something together.”

Bell also emphasized the fact that she “chose the right person” to be her life partner. She picked the “Parenthood” star because they knew they were willing to “make this work” together and “compromise constantly.”

“I am glad I chose my husband because he has a commitment to growth at all times. I don’t like the idea that you’re looking for your perfect puzzle piece, because you also have to become a puzzle piece that fits with someone else,” she continued.

“We’re not going to have checks and balances because we are going to realize, ‘It’s not me against you, it’s us against the world.’”

The “Good Place” alum has been married to Shepard since October 2013. The couple are the parents of daughters Lincoln, 12, and Delta, 10.

The “Veronica Mars” alum made headlines earlier this week for what some called an “unbelievably tone-deaf” Instagram post. The caption, celebrating her and Shepard’s 12th wedding anniversary, enraged followers.

“Happy 12th wedding anniversary to the man who once said to me: ‘I would never kill you. A lot of men have killed their wives at a certain point. Even though I’m heavily incentivized to kill you, I never would.’ ❤️” she penned alongside a photo of her and her husband sharing a warm embrace.

Many of her critics pointed out that she was making light of murder during Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

“Thats a wildly sad and insensitive thing to say considering it’s domestic violence awareness month and thousands of women have died a[t] the hands of the man they trusted…” one user pointed out.

“Kristen there’s no way you posted this during domestic violence awareness month 😭,” another penned in disbelief.

Even the true crime show “Dateline” hopped into the chat, commenting, “Screenshotted.” A national advocacy group also blasted her for downplaying domestic violence in the wedding anniversary post.

“There’s nothing funny about domestic violence ‘jokes’ that trivialize the very real fear, trauma and pain that millions of victims and survivors face each day,” a rep for the National Network to End Domestic Violence told Page Six in a statement on Tuesday.

However, a handful of supporters defended the star and called critics “too sensitive.”

The “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” star has yet to address the viral backlash. She has since limited her social media comments.
