Who’s warming up for Cody Johnson? Rodeo Houston’s 2026 lineup drops with unexpected names shaking up the stage. ML

Country music star Cody Johnson, who recently announced he will close the 2026 Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo with a special concert-only performance, now has some high-profile company for the event. Jon Pardi and Randy Houser have been confirmed as the opening acts for Johnson’s big show on March 22, 2026, making the night even more exciting for fans.

Jon Pardi, familiar to Houston Rodeo audiences after his 2025 appearance at NRG Stadium, is known for hits like “Head Over Boots” and “Dirt on My Boots.” Randy Houser, a respected country artist and songwriter behind popular tracks such as “How Country Feels” and “Runnin’ Outta Moonlight,” has also collaborated with stars like Miranda Lambert.

Johnson himself has a strong history with the Houston Rodeo, having performed there five times before. Notably, he will be the first artist to headline a full concert at the event since George Strait in 2022. Johnson’s song “Welcome to the Show” has served as the official Houston Rodeo theme since 2019.

This announcement comes amid Johnson’s recent health setback, which forced him to cancel the remainder of his 2025 tour. On October 7, he revealed on Instagram that he suffered a ruptured eardrum requiring immediate surgery after battling a severe upper respiratory and sinus infection.

Despite the setback, all signs indicate Johnson is on track for a full recovery and plans to return to performing in 2026. Fans can look forward to seeing him, along with Pardi and Houser, light up the stage next year in Houston.
