Joy Behar Claps Back at Sunny Hostin’s On-Air “Rage” Over Cheating Husbands — and Drops a Savage One-Liner.NH
The View turned tense Friday (Oct. 24) when the co-hosts discussed cheating on the show, sparking strong reactions from Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin who were both feeling the “rage.”
The discussion began when Joy Behar asked the ladies if they would hire a “mistress dispeller,” a service that could cost up to $20,000. “This special consultant will work their way into your spouse’s personal life, get close to their lover and convince the pair to break it off,” Behar explained.
Hostin did not hide her distaste for cheating as she commented on how “evolved” a person must be to hire a consultant.
“I get it. I think this is very evolved because the wife that would hire this P.I. is not consumed with rage, is not trying to punch the other person in the throat, is not trying to poison the person,” she said. “It’s a very evolved way of handling the fact that your husband is a nasty, nasty cheater.”
She then admitted that she would not hire such a consultant, prompting Ana Navarro to joke that Hostin would rather “kill” her husband.
Later, when Navarro recommended trying to fix the “broken places in your marriage” to avoid cheating, Hostin replied, “Maybe he’s just a nasty cheater.”
Behar seemed to agree. “Some men just like to cheat,” she said, prompting Hostin to chime in and ass, “They’re nasty morally bankrupt cheaters.”
Behar later attempted to clarify why someone would hire such a consultant. “To the rage that I’m experiencing from this group…,” she began. Both Griffin and Hostin admitted that they “have rage” when it comes to cheating.
“Okay. Some of us are medicated,” Behar responded, prompting laughs from the studio audience. “But here’s the thing, they want to save face. That’s why they don’t cause the scene.”
Griffin, on the other hand, thought most would “want to ragefully confront” a cheating partner.
“You need too feel the pain and anger,” she said.
