Stephen A. Smith Eats His Words After Attacking Rep. Jasmine Crockett — and It’s Not the Apology Fans Expected.NH

The ‘First Take’ host said Rep. Crockett’s rhetoric was for the streets, not Capitol Hill
ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith has finally apologized to Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett after flaming her publicly because she criticized President Trump’s policies she believes are detrimental to her constituents and America.
The host of “First Take” went on a long diatribe aimed at Crockett (D-Texas), who scorched Trump with an inflammatory four-word insult: “old White nepo baby.” She also referred to the current White House as a “rogue administration” for trying to go around a court order to prevent Trump from sending federal troops to Portland, Ore.

Stephen A. Smith took off after Rep. Crockett
Smith took umbrage with Crockett’s rhetoric and lambasted her on his Sirius XM radio show, “Straight Shooter.”
“When you go on national television and you calling the president of the United States out of his name and you’re being all disrespectful as a representative in this country, do you believe the citizens of Texas sent you there to do that?” Smith roared in his customary high-volume manner. “They don’t like him either. I’m talking about those who voted for her in all likelihood. But because he is who he is and he is in that position, they expect you to go to Capitol Hill and figure out a way to maneuver yourself through that terrain to work in a fashion that’s going to facilitate getting things done on behalf of your constituents. That’s your job! That’s your job!”

Smith went on to finish his message on how Crockett opposes Trump.
“Excuse my language on SiriusXM, but it ain’t your job to say, ‘He ain’t s–t. He ain’t worth a damn.’ That’s not your job. Anybody could do that. You’re supposed to be figuring out a way to get things done.”
Celebrities support Rep. Crockett, slam Smith
Multiple notable political personalities backed Crockett and cooked Smith for having the audacity to trash Crockett publicly and say her rhetoric “for the streets.”
Crockett reposted what Willie D of Gheto Boys fame said about the sports personality.
“Stephen A. Smith taking shots at Jasmine Crockett ain’t just messy, it’s weak. Dude is sitting on one of thebiggest mics in America, and instead of using it to uplift, he’s tearing down a Black woman who’s out here putting in real work. That ain’t critique, that’s betrayal,” Willie D penned. “Jasmine Crockett ain’t the problem.”
Others who castigated Smith included renowned political analysts Angela Rye and Roland Martin.

Urbanites torched Stephen A. Smith
Fans also got hold of Smith and read him for filth for singling out Crockett for condemnation.
“Stephen A Smith never in his life called out a white woman, he knows what he be doing,” said one user, while another said, “Stephen A is exactly what he is accusing Jasmine Crockett of. I cringe when I hear him yelling in that amped up NY accent. What a clown.”
A third commenter said, “The man who yells at the office all day criticizing someone else on how to properly express themselves is beyond wild work, while a fourth added, “Stephen A. need to reboot that RoboCop hairline before coming for Jasmine Crockett. Man out here auditioning for ‘Django: The Tap Dance Chronicles.”
A fifth respondent added humorously that “Jason Whitlock is steaming mad at Steven A. for trying to be him.”

Stephen A. Smith apologizes to Rep. Crockett
Smith, 57, said he was angry that Trump clapped back at Crockett
“When Trump came at her like that, I was pissed off,” Smith said. “That’s what people meant when they said, ‘When you question her, it invites that.’ I understand that now,” Smith said on his show. “If she tries to take that and accuse me of being misogynistic, I’m going to push back because that’s emphatically false. There’s no truth to that whatsoever, and I’m not accepting that.”
Smith was remorseful, however, in how his critique of Crockett was interpreted and emphasized that he’s always open to self-reflection.
“I can look Jasmine Crockett in the face and say I’m sorry for any kind of noise I caused in your direction,” Smith lauded Crockett’s intelligence, leadership, and political future, calling her one of the most impressive figures in Washington. “I think Jasmine Crockett should be competing for the Senate seat in Texas or the Attorney General spot because she’s qualified,” he said. “She’s accomplished, she’s smart, and she has an incredible challenge working in this political climate.”
