Jimmy Kimmel shocks fans by revealing the newest addition to his ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ family on air.NH

Jimmy Kimmelintroduced a “new member” of the Jimmy Kimmel Live! family—a college football player named Jimmy Kibble.

On the Thursday, Oct. 9 episode of the late-night show, Kimmel invited the Georgetown University wide receiver to weigh in on the similarity between their last names and the attention he receives as a result.
In a joint Instagram post from Kimmel, Kibble and the Georgetown football team, the show declared, “We are proud to introduce a new member of the @JimmyKimmelLive family… Jimmy Kibble!” alongside a clip from the hilarious segment.

“Not only does college football have some of the greatest young athletes, it also boasts some of the greatest young names in this country,” Kimmel said as he ran through a list of unique names. He ended with a college senior who, to him, “has the finest name in college football today.”
After a montage of announcers exclaiming that Kibble had caught big passes, Kimmel introduced the young athlete, who joined the show via a video call.
“I guess the first thing I want to say is I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to make your life hell, I really didn’t,” Kimmel said, to which Kibble replied, “Oh, it’s OK. I forgive you.”
When asked if the similarity with their names was something that was brought up a lot through his life, the football player admitted, “More than you would know. Every single first day of class, I was Jimmy Kimmel.”
“It’s exciting to, for me, to watch you play because I just imagine that the announcers have a cold and it’s me catching those touchdowns,” the late-night host joked.

Kibble, born in 2003, does not share a middle name with Kimmel, as the wide receiver’s middle name is Ashton (after his mother’s love for actor Ashton Kutcher).
Kimmel then asked, “You graduate in the spring, right? Do you have any interest in hosting a late-night talk show? We’d barely have to change the logos.”
To that, Kibble shared, “If you’re ever sick, I would gladly fill in,” prompting Kimmel to joke, “Oh, that would be nice. And vice-versa, by the way.”
Ultimately, Kimmel offered to sponsor Kibble, which is allowed now at the college level, to which the college football player enthusiastically accepted.
Fans expressed their delight in the comments, with one Instagram user writing, “How great that you’re sponsoring this young talent[ed] man. You’re a truly amazing Jimmy 👏💙🇺🇸💙🇺🇸💙🇺🇸.”
Another follower wrote, “I’m so happy for him. He seems like a nice and respectable young man. I bet momma is proud 🙌.”
Someone else shared, “What a nice kid. Wishing him the best of luck with the sponsorship.”
Meanwhile, yet another Instagram user admitted, “100% thought this was going to be the show’s new canine mascot.”
