David Muir briefly stopped news anchoring on Wednesday night to share dangerous clips of footage of the powerful waves caused by the threatening natural disasters, Hurricane Humberto and Hurricane Imelda.

In a clip from the news program that was shared in a joint Instagram post from the official pages of ABC World News Tonight and its correspondent, Victor Oquendo, David details how the hurricanes are affecting the East Coast. The television host briefly addressed the topic before he showed different clips of the destructive waters ignited by Hurricane Humberto and Hurricane Imelda.

It was clear from the footage that the hurricanes were a cause for alarm, much like Hurricane Kiko was earlier this month, from how the waves crashed into different structures.

“Powerful waves have toppled at least five homes on North Carolina’s Outer Banks as Hurricanes Imelda and Humberto churn off the East Coast. @victoroquendo has the latest on the double threat in the Atlantic and @leegoldbergabc7 is timing it all out,” the post’s caption read.
Several commented their concern for those who are at the mercy of Hurricane Imelda and Hurricane Humberto in the post’s comment section.

“State of Emergency, potential flooding…. Thereafter, the Hurricanes had eroding beaches and destroyed homes…. powerfully, two interacting hurricanes onward through Bermuda and twisting into Atlantic Ocean…. Thoughts and Prayers…..” one wrote.
Another added, “This is painful to watch,” while another shared, “Prayers for all” as many more just responded with prayer hand emojis.
This wasn’t the first time that David has stopped his show.

On Tuesday, he interrupted his ABC show to share details about the government shut down that is now in action over funding for a government bill that didn’t include extensions to Affordable Care Act subsidies, expiring at the end 2025.
The majority of Democrats in Congress voted against a bill to fund the government, leading to a government shut down that went into action Wednesday morning.
While live reporting on his World News Tonight show, David informed viewers that “both parties are blaming the other,” with President Donald Trump “threatening to fire federal workers, and to cut programs and benefits.”

David also pointed out to viewers that Trump informed Americans that “he can do things that are irreversible.”
