Jimmy Kimmel’s joke about Jimmy Fallon’s “secret family” sends fans into a frenzy over what he really meant.NH

Jimmy Kimmel will take any opportunity to poke fun at Jimmy Fallon — including making up fake rumors about a secret family.
In Us Weekly’s exclusive clip from the Tuesday, October 14, episode of On Brand With Jimmy Fallon, the Tonight Show host was telling contestants about their biggest assignment yet involving Captain Morgan tapping the On Brand Agency creatives to work on a Super Bowl campaign with the goal of reaching younger generations and bringing friends together.
Fallon, 51, was interrupted by Kimmel, 57, who made an appearance via a video played on the Jumbotron at the stadium, saying, “Hello random assortment of creatives. This is exciting, right? Two late night Jimmys joining forces to lead you on an epic adventure with Captain Morgan original spice rum — something you have probably been dreaming of your whole lives.”
Kimmel used his guest spot to reflect on his friendship with Fallon.

“Jimmy and I have been friends for a long time and now we have a tradition. Whenever we tie in the ratings, let’s do it,” Kimmel told Fallon, who was forced to cut off half his tie in unison with his fellow late night talk show host.
After getting a laugh out of the creatives, Kimmel asked Fallon to “cover your eyes” because he wanted “to say something nice” without him overhearing.

“Jimmy and I are a lot like you guys. We are forced to go head to head every night and people assume we are enemies but we are not,” Kimmel noted. “To win the Captain Morgan account and a trip to the Super Bowl, you are going to have to work together as teams. May the best crew win.”
Kimmel lied to Fallon about what he shared on the show, quipping, “Jimmy, I hope it is cool. I told them about the secret family you have in Miami.”

The comedians have supported each other throughout the years while at the helm of their respective shows. In September, Fallon showed his support when Kimmel’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! was temporarily suspended by ABC.
“Well guys, the big story is that Jimmy Kimmel was suspended by ABC after pressure from the FCC, leaving everyone thinking WTF,” Fallon said on his show at the time. “This morning I woke up to 100 text messages from my dad saying, ‘I’m sorry they canceled your show.’ I go, ‘That’s not me, that’s Jimmy Kimmel.’ But to be honest with you all, I don’t know what’s going on and no one does, but I do know Jimmy Kimmel, and he is a decent, loving and funny guy, and I hope he comes back.”
On Brand With Jimmy Fallon airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET and Fridays at 8 p.m. ET on NBC before streaming the next day on Peacock.
