The Eagles’ run game has vanished — and Saquon Barkley’s the one paying the price every Sunday.QQ

The Philadelphia Eagles have endured a turbulent start to their 2025 campaign, and now one of their rookies is making headlines off the field. His decision speaks volumes about discipline, priorities, and the mental grind of surviving in the NFL spotlight.

Mac McWilliams, a fourth-round pick out of Mississippi State, flashed impressive promise during the preseason — showcasing quick instincts, strong tackling, and the swagger of a natural playmaker. Displaying standout versatility at both outside and nickel, McWilliams recorded an eye-catching pass breakup and quickly earned praise from coaches for his “click-and-close” quickness and adaptability. Within the Eagles facility, he was even regarded as being on the “fast track” for a key defensive role after training camp.

But through the first seven games of the regular season, he’s only appeared in three, primarily on special teams and in rotational snaps.

As he works to earn a more consistent role in Philadelphia’s secondary, McWilliams also made a personal decision that turned heads. The rookie reportedly broke up with his girlfriend, Lana Maree, a 20-year-old OnlyFans creator and influencer from Florida whose growing online following had begun attracting unwanted attention.

Maree, known for lifestyle and solo content, is relatively new to the platform but has quickly gained traction with over 25,000 followers and low-cost subscriptions. However, her public image — and the social media noise that came with it — inevitably spilled over into McWilliams’s world.

In explaining the breakup, McWilliams was direct.

“I came to Philly to build a career, not to build clout. She’s a good person, but there was too much attention, too much noise. I need to focus on football, on earning my spot here.”

He added:

“This league doesn’t wait. If you lose focus for a second, someone else takes your place. I can’t let that happen.”

For a rookie still carving out his place on one of the NFC’s toughest rosters, those words reflect a clear sense of urgency.

The decision sparked mixed reactions online. Some fans praised McWilliams for showing maturity and dedication, while others expressed sympathy for Maree, calling her another casualty of the pressures that come with the NFL lifestyle.

For the Eagles, the message is clear: their young cornerback is choosing focus over fame. As the season grinds deeper into the fall, Mac McWilliams appears determined to prove that his mind — and his loyalty — belong solely to Philadelphia’s defense.
