For the First Time This Season, Mahomes Reveals a Hidden Superpower That Could Redefine the Chiefs’ Offense.QQ

Through six games, the Kansas City Chiefs sit at a modest 3-3 on the season. While that shouldn’t have any team feeling amazing, the Chiefs seem better off going forward than many other teams. One reason is because the rest of the AFC is in shambles at the moment. But more importantly than anything, Patrick Mahomes is playing some of his best football at the moment.
That was on full display in Kansas City’s recent home win over the Detroit Lions, where Mahomes threw three touchdowns to bring his total to 11; almost halfway to his 2024 total of 26. But what has stood out to many about Mahomes’ season so far hasn’t been his impressive performances through the air. It’s his rushing production that has fans thinking he’s well and truly back.

Patrick Mahomes is having a career year in terms of rushing production
Mahomes being efficient with his legs is not something we haven’t seen before. The difference is that this year it’s coming in the regular season. In the past, Mahomes has had plenty of rushing success in crucial games, but it’s been during the playoffs where it’s been most apparent.
In three different postseasons, Mahomes ran for 117 yards or more in just the playoffs alone. He’s also scored seven rushing touchdowns in 21 playoff games, while he has just 18 in 118 regular season games.
