George Strait to Perform at Clemson’s Memorial Stadium for First Time in Over Two Decades
Tickets On Sale October 31; Cody Johnson and Wyatt Flores to Join Special One-Night Concert Event
CLEMSON, S.C. — Legendary country singer George Strait is set to make his long-awaited return to Clemson’s Memorial Stadium—known by fans as “Death Valley”—for the venue’s first live concert since 1999. The performance will take place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, with Strait performing in-the-round for thousands of fans.
Joining Strait for this historic evening are special guests Cody Johnson, the CMA Award-winning country star, and Wyatt Flores, the breakout artist whose debut album and national performances have earned widespread acclaim.

Tickets for the concert will be available starting at 10 a.m. Eastern Time on Friday, October 31, via Ticketmaster.com.
The event is especially significant to Clemson residents and country music fans alike: the last concert held at Memorial Stadium was also headlined by George Strait more than 25 years ago, creating a full-circle moment for the community and the artist alike.
Strait commented on the return, saying, “Going back to Death Valley for the first time in more than 25 years feels pretty special. Can’t wait to see you, Clemson!”
In recent years, Strait has taken a step back from full-scale touring, opting instead for a select number of high-profile performances, including a record-breaking show at Texas A&M’s Kyle Field in 2024 with over 110,000 attendees. His most recent appearances in 2025 included only five major stadiums nationwide.
This announcement comes as Strait is also being recognized on the national stage. He will be honored in December at the 47th Kennedy Center Honors and inducted into the Texas Songwriters Hall of Fame in early 2026 for his outstanding contributions to American music.

His most recent album, Cowboys and Dreamers, includes 13 new tracks that showcase both his traditional country roots and lyrical depth. The album has earned critical acclaim and commercial success, further proving that Strait’s influence on the genre remains as strong as ever.
Residents and country fans are encouraged to secure tickets early, as demand is expected to be extremely high for what promises to be an unforgettable night in Death Valley.
