Eric Church’s New IMAX Project Isn’t Just a Concert—It’s a Battle Between Heart and Steel in ‘Evangeline vs. The Machine’. ML

Eric Church is bringing his latest album to life in a way few country artists have done before — on the giant screen. Following the release of his 76-minute studio album Evangeline vs. the Machine, the singer-songwriter is now giving fans the chance to experience his live show through IMAX, with a concert film titled Evangeline vs. The Machine Comes Alive, set for release on February 13, 2026.

The album — his first in four years — debuted to critical and commercial success. It climbed to No. 1 on the UK Country Albums chart, and landed at No. 5 in the U.S. Top Country Albums chart, showcasing Church’s enduring global impact. With standout tracks like “Johnny” and “Hands of Time,” the album weaves new sonic textures with the raw storytelling Church is known for.

Amid the album’s growing popularity, Church kicked off his Free the Machine Tour, electrifying fans across the country. But aware that not everyone could attend — especially with rising concert ticket costs — Church sought a more inclusive option. With many shows costing upwards of $200 per seat, the IMAX film offers a more affordable alternative, with tickets expected to be around $30.

The concert was filmed at The Pinnacle in Nashville, capturing Church in his element across two dynamic nights. In addition to performing the entire Evangeline vs. the Machine album, Church revisits fan favorites like “Sinners Like Me,” “Springsteen,” and “Desperate Man,” making the film a comprehensive tribute to his musical journey.

Church reflected on the experience, calling it unlike anything he’s ever done.

“I’ve played a lot of shows. I’ve never had two nights like these where the room felt literally transported,” he said. “It was unforgettable and I’ll remember it the rest of my days.”

Produced in partnership with IMAX, MCA, Mercury Studios, and Q Prime South, the film represents a landmark moment for Church — not just as a musician, but as a performer committed to making music more accessible. Whether you’re a longtime fan or discovering his music for the first time, Evangeline vs. The Machine Comes Alive offers an intimate look at one of country music’s most uncompromising voices.
