David Muir Sparks Outrage After Airing “Ridiculous” Donald Trump Announcement That Viewers Can’t Believe Went On-Air.NN
One message stated, “I love Hitler,” while another mocked raping women, and a third likened NBA players to “monkeys.” Yet, after the messages surfaced, Trump appeared to threaten federal employees with termination when he indicated more than 10,000 individuals could lose their positions, a move a federal judge is trying to prevent.
During his October 15 episode of World News Tonight, David told viewers that Trump is giving priority to specific agencies regarding compensation, citing the president who declared, “We got the people that we want being paid, paid.”
David also reported to his viewers that Trump announced he’ll be directing missile strikes toward Venezuelan territory after hitting vessels allegedly transporting drugs near the South American country’s coastline. Handing the story over to Rachel Scott, the ABC correspondent provided additional details about the circumstances.
“After already dismissing more than 4,000 federal employees during the government shutdown, the Trump administration is now indicating that figure will more than double,” Rachel stated, broadcasting a segment of Russell Vought, Director of the United States Office of Management and Budget, on The Charlie Kirk show, commenting, “I think it’ll probably be north of 10,000.”
Rachel then displayed another video with the president addressing the press, “They’re going to be terminated on a permanent basis, and it’s thousands of people, and it’s, you know, billions of dollars.”
Nevertheless, World News Tonight reported that a federal judge has commanded the administration “to immediately halt the mass firings, after multiple unions sued, calling the firings, ‘illegal, arbitrary, and capricious.'” US District Judge Susan Illston has also directed the government to supply details on the individuals it has dismissed thus far, within two days.
This develops as hundreds of thousands of federal employees are missing paychecks due to the continuing government shutdown. Yet, according to Rachel, “The president has authorized extraordinary measures to pay the troops, and today [October 15] said the FBI will get paid too.
“We got the people that we want paid, paid. We want the FBI paid and we want the military paid,” President Trump declared during an Oval Office press conference. Nevertheless, as Rachel illustrated to ABC viewers, employees like air traffic controllers, who fulfill a crucial safety function, are still not receiving compensation.
Air traffic controller Peter LeFavre expressed his concerns, stating, “Not knowing exactly how I’m going to have childcare for my kids or put gas in the car, or pay the next mortgage payment, adds a certain level of stress onto an already stressful profession. It’s just very difficult,”.
In addition to this, President Trump has made another announcement that has raised eyebrows. He mentioned the possibility of launching missiles at Venezuelan land as part of his war on drugs.
The administration has been focusing on boats off the coast of the nation suspected of carrying narcotics.
When questioned about why he hasn’t utilized the Coast Guard, who can confirm the identities of those aboard the boats, he responded, “They have faster boats. Some of these boats are seriously, I mean, they’re world class speed boats, but they’re not faster than missiles,” and added that he is “certainly looking at land now because we’ve got the sea very well under control.”
ABC viewers reacted to the news on social media, expressing their disappointment. One Instagram user commented, “I’m still waiting on America to be great or at least heading in the right direction,” while another wrote, “Thank God for that Judge.”
A third person chimed in, saying, “This is absolutely ridiculous, and I am so sorry for all our federal workers who this is affecting.”
