The San Francisco 49ers have been linked to a trade that will make them even more formidable following their impressive 4-1 start to the season.

The team has been dealt multiple key injuries in 2025, with Brock Purdy, George Kittle, and Nick Bosa all sidelined. Bosa isn’t expected to return this season after tearing his ACL in Week 3.

According to NFL insider Dianna Russini, the NFC North outfit might look to replace the pass rusher, as they’re currently assessing the trade market, and she expects them to make inquiries into the availability of Cincinnati Defensive end Trey Hendrickson.

“San Francisco is canvassing the pass rusher market to fill the void left by Nick Bosa’s injury. I expect them to call Cincinnati about Trey Hendrickson,”Russini wrote.

The Pro Bowl DE got a significant raise in salary from the Bengals after a lengthy contract dispute with the team. Having led the NFL in sacks last season with 17.5, he reportedly landed himself a $14 million raise, taking his salary to $30 million.

Despite the improved terms, the 30-year-old will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, so he’s definitely worth looking into. However, the Niners will have their work cut out for them as there will be interest from all over the league.

The Las Vegas Raiders were previously touted as favorites to land the 2024 First Team All-Pro in a potential trade.

“In a conversation with an NFL executive on Tuesday, I was informed, ‘I have no doubt the Raiders are the frontrunners,” Hondo Carpenter of Sports Illustrated reported in August. “Tom Brady and Mark Davis want to win now, and John (Spytek) has no fear when it comes to making bold moves.”
