Brian Daboll Didn’t Hold Back as the Giants Coach Brilliantly Trolled A.J. Brown in a Move That Lit Up the Rivalry.QQ

The New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles will face off on Thursday Night Football to open up Week 6.
And one narrative that will persist until something changes it is the fact that Eagles star wide receiver A.J. Brown is having a quiet season.
By the numbers, it’s pretty much true. So far, Brown has done this:
- Week 1: 1 catch, 8 yards (1 target)
- Week 2: 5 catches, 27 yards (8 targets)
- Week 3: 6 catches, 109 yards, 1 TD (10 targets)
- Week 4: 2 catches, 7 yards (9 targets)
- Week 5: 5 catches, 43 yards (8 targets)
A few of those weeks aren’t awful, but they aren’t what Brown has classically done in his career.
Giants head coach Brian Daboll was asked about Brown in his press conference on Tuesday, essentially trying to understand how New York would prepare for a player it knows is talented that just hasn’t impacted games in a huge way yet in 2025.
Daboll’s response: “When you watch the tape… A.J. is open a lot.”
That’s a hilarious way to answer the question.
Basically, hey yeah, the Eagles have their stud open and just aren’t getting him the football.
The Giants will surely be prepared to stop Brown the same way they would be if he was already off to a big season.
The Eagles will have to continue figuring out how to involve their star more, especially coming off their first loss of the season.
It’s certainly a narrative worth tracking on Thursday night. Either Brown breaks out, or the apparent struggles continue.
