NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Country music legend George Strait is heading back to stadium stages with a historic performance slated for Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Memorial Stadium in Clemson, South Carolina, famously known as “Death Valley.” The special one-night-only event will feature special guests Cody Johnson and Wyatt Flores, making it one of the most anticipated country music shows of the year.
This performance marks the first concert held at Memorial Stadium since 1999—an event also headlined by Strait—bringing the icon full circle as he once again prepares to captivate thousands of fans in an in-the-round stage setup.

Tickets for “Death Valley Nights” will be available to the public starting at 10 a.m. ET on Friday, October 31, 2025, exclusively through Ticketmaster.com.
“Going back to Death Valley for the first time in more than 25 years feels pretty special. Can’t wait to see you, Clemson,” said Strait in a rare public statement.
This announcement follows Strait’s limited stadium appearances in recent years, including his record-breaking show at Texas A&M’s Kyle Field in 2024, where 110,905 fans attended—one of the largest single-ticketed concerts in U.S. history. His 2025 mini-tour featured just five stops, including high-profile performances in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Foxborough, and Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium.
Fans and critics alike continue to celebrate Strait’s stage presence and timeless sound. The Boston Globe wrote of his Gillette Stadium performance, “Strait skipped the pyrotechnics and let his voice do the heavy lifting,” while Variety praised his SoFi set as exuding “quiet, uncocky confidence that would make anyone feel patriotic about country as a genre.”

In addition to his performance schedule, Strait is receiving prestigious accolades this year, including being honored at the 47th Annual Kennedy Center Honors this December, as well as his upcoming induction into the Texas Songwriters Hall of Fame in early 2026.
Strait’s most recent album, Cowboys and Dreamers—his 31st studio record—has been widely acclaimed as a return to classic form. The project features standout tracks like “Three Drinks Behind,” “MIA Down in MIA,” and “Honky Tonk Hall Of Fame” with Chris Stapleton, as well as a compelling rendition of Waylon Jennings’ “Waymore’s Blues.”
With more than 100 million records sold, 60+ major industry awards, and over 100 Billboard Country Airplay chart entries, George Strait remains one of the most enduring and influential artists in country music history.
