Cowboys Fans Already Believed, but Dak Prescott’s Latest Performances Are Making the Rest of the NFL Take Notice

Cowboys’ quarterback Dak Prescott is continuing to cement his legacy as a top-tier signal caller in NFL history.

After a four-touchdown performance in the Cowboys’ 37-22 win over the New York Jets last week, Prescott has now recorded 38 career games with three or more touchdown passes. That makes him sixth all-time in that category among players in their first 10 NFL seasons, surpassing Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre for the spot. Ahead of him are Peyton Manning, Dan Marino, Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers, and Russell Wilson.

Prescott has been on a roll lately for the Cowboys, showing why he’s such a highly valued quarterback. He put on an absolute passing clinic as the Packers and Cowboys dueled to a 40-40 draw on Sunday Night Football two weeks ago, racking up 319 yards and three touchdowns in the contest. He then came out against the Jets and picked up right where he left off, throwing for 237 yards and four more scores. He’s gone a combined 49-of-69 passing in those two games as well, which is good for a completion percentage of 71 percent.

According to Next Gen Stats, it was the second consecutive week Prescott also aligned under center for more than 40 percent of the Cowboys’ snaps, and he went 8-of-9 passing for 85 yards and scored all four touchdowns on those snaps. When targeting the seams, he was 11-of-15 passing for 152 yards and scored two of his touchdowns.
