Country music fans are reeling after a legendary artist announced the loss of his hero with the emotional tribute, “We’ll miss you, amigo.” ML

Country music legend George Strait took to social media with a heartbreaking post on Wednesday.
“We lost our good friend and my hero Roy Cooper yesterday,” Strait wrote on X.“He’s with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ now. God please be with the Cooper family and friends. We’ll miss you amigo. I’ll come find you one day.”

For those unaware of just who Cooper is, the 69-year-old, nicknamed the “Super Looper,” was a rodeo legend.
Fox reported that Cooper was “considered the greatest roper of all time.”
Per the site, he died in a house fire in Decatur, Texas on Tuesday.
“It is with great sadness that our family shares the passing of our Dad, The Super Looper, Roy Cooper,” his son, Tuf, wrote on Facebook. “We’re all in shock and at a loss for words from this tragedy at the moment.”
Cooper started his professional career in 1976 and won a world championship in his first national finals, per Fox. The site said he went on to win eight titles, and was inducted into the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame just three years into his career in 1979.

Strait’s post had fans sending prayers while some also called Cooper a hero and a legend.
