The NFC North rivalry between the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions got a little spicier this Thanksgiving-not just on the field, but online too. After the Packers pulled out a 31-24 win at Ford Field to complete a season sweep of the Lions, the fireworks didn’t stop when the clock hit zero.

Amik Robertson vs. Christian Watson: The Social Media Saga

It started with Lions cornerback Amik Robertson, who took to social media to vent his frustration over a pivotal third-quarter touchdown. On the play, Packers quarterback Jordan Love connected with Christian Watson for a 51-yard score that gave Green Bay a 24-14 lead. Robertson wasn’t happy with how it went down, suggesting Watson got away with a push-off that the officials ignored.

In his post, Robertson didn’t hold back:

“Dawg, y’all let these soft WRs get away with too much shi but be ready to throw a flag when we touch these divas.

You clearly see the push off separation on this weak route. It’s all good though.”

That didn’t sit well with Watson, who fired back the next day via Instagram, posting a photo from the touchdown with a caption that read:

“Weak ah route??? 🤔🤔 Flicks though tho 😂😂😂”

In other words, scoreboard.

Watson Delivers on the Field, and Online

Watson’s response wasn’t just about defending his honor-it was a flex backed up by performance. He finished the game with four catches for 80 yards and that crucial third-quarter touchdown. It was his second-best outing of the season, and he’s quietly become a major weapon in this Packers offense since returning in Week 8.

Through Week 13, Watson has 21 receptions on 34 targets for 363 yards and three touchdowns. The numbers don’t jump off the page, but his timing has been clutch-and his chemistry with Jordan Love is growing fast.

Love Finds His Groove

Speaking of Love, the Packers’ QB1 didn’t have his most accurate day, completing 18 of 30 passes, but he made his throws count. Four touchdowns and 234 yards later, he showed once again that he’s capable of orchestrating big-time drives, especially when the pocket holds and the receivers do their part.

Dontayvion Wicks also stepped up in a big way, hauling in six catches for 94 yards and two touchdowns. Add in 83 rushing yards from Josh Jacobs on 17 carries, and you’ve got a well-rounded offensive showing from a team that’s quietly building momentum down the stretch.

NFC North Race Heating Up

The win moves Green Bay to 8-3-1, while Detroit falls to 7-5. With the Bears also picking up a win in Week 13, the division is shaping into a three-team race-but the Packers are starting to separate themselves with timely play and a balanced attack.

Looking ahead, Green Bay’s schedule is no cakewalk. They’ll face the Bears again on December 7, followed by a matchup with the Broncos on December 14. After that, things get even tougher with games still to be scheduled against the Ravens, Vikings, and a second showdown with Chicago.

Lions at a Crossroads

As for Detroit, this loss stings-not just because it came on a national stage, but because it exposed some cracks. The Lions have now dropped both games to the Packers this season, and unless they fix their defensive miscues and find a way to finish games stronger, their playoff hopes could take a serious hit.

Robertson’s frustration might be understandable in the heat of the moment, but the Lions have bigger issues to address than one touchdown call. The defense needs to tighten up, and the offense has to find more consistency if they want to keep pace in a suddenly crowded NFC North.

Bottom Line

Christian Watson and the Packers let their play do the talking-and then added a little punctuation on social media. The Lions?

They’ve got some soul-searching to do. With December football looming, the race for the NFC North is officially on-and Green Bay’s looking like a team no one wants to face right now.
