A Rising Country Star Has Officially Snatched Willie Nelson’s Billboard Hot Country Songs Record — and Fans Are Stunned. ML

Country music has a few pillars of the genre still around and making music, but that doesn’t mean some of the new acts aren’t right up on their spurred heels.

Recently, artist Morgan Wallen, 32, surpassed the incredible Willie Nelson with a history-making chart achievement.

Wallen’s tune “Graveyard Whistling” debuted on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart at No. 11 and marked his 117th career entry on the list. With that, Wallen earned the title of the fourth-most entries in the history of the chart, pushing aside legend Willie Nelson (116). Currently, Wallen ranks behind George Jones (155), George Strait (124), and Johnny Cash (121). Behind him sit other icons who cracked the 100+ club, including Dolly Parton (110), Taylor Swift (108), Reba McEntire (106), and Merle Haggard (101).

While it’s certainly an impressive achievement, it’s important to note — as Whiskey Riff pointed out — that Wallen’s advantage partly comes from the era he’s in. With streaming platforms, songs can rise in popularity faster than ever, and artists today can include far more tracks on an album than their legendary predecessors could.

That isn’t to discredit Wallen, who has clearly shown his prowess in the industry. His album I’m the Problem set a record for the most songs charted on the Billboard Hot 100 in a single week, with 37 tracks making the list.

Fans are currently clamoring for a 2026 tour, and many are convinced that one is on the way.

“Teasers” reportedly indicate that 11 cities are “confirmed,” and people are excited.

“Emotionally, I’m ready, financially, I’m not ready lol,” joked one fan.

Others predict Wallen could soon top another record.

“Morgan Wallen will totally beat Zach Bryan’s attendance record,” said one fan, echoing the sentiment shared by many.

Hopefully, full tour details will be revealed soon.
