It was just a regular day at Dairy Queen in Cotulla, Texas, before George Strait decided to roll up and order some lunch. Of course, the king of county was immediately recognised. He ordered a Hunger-Buster burger, fries, a drink, and a sundae just like a normal person would.
Becky, one of the employees, couldn’t resist and asked if she could snap a picture. The image, shared on her TikTok, shows her wearing her Dairy Queen outfit, while George Strait smiles in the background. “The King George Strait stopped at DQ Today,” she shared with the world.
He was, according to Becky, humble and kind to the staff. He hasn’t let his years of country fame go to his head, and he knows he’s not above the occasional fast food meal.

Speaking to Country Now, Becky looked back on her chance meeting with a country superstar. “My coworker is the one who knew it was him. We were like, let’s make sure before we go over to the drive. When he opened the window, he asked ‘George?’ He said ‘yes’ and smiled. I asked him how he was doing and asked him, ‘you stop by here often?’ and he said ‘yes I do.’ We shook hands and then I asked for a selfie and he said ‘of course.”
He was kind enough to take the time to address his fans. “He was very friendly and very polite…It was an amazing experience to have met him. We got a free meet and greet. He has stopped here before, but I had never been there. I was lucky to have met him that day.”
