Chris Jones Just Gave Jacksonville’s Offense the Ultimate Compliment by Calling Them “Battle-Tested” Ahead of Kickoff

Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones knows the Chiefs defense is up against a “cohesive” threat in the Jacksonville Jaguars.

“They’re battle-tested,” Jones said. “You watch them throughout the course of the few games they’ve played, they’ve been battle-tested. The Houston Texans’ game was a battle, especially in the fourth quarter. It was a back-and-forth battle. Their defense has been playing lights out.”

Jones said quarterback Trevor Lawrence has delivered on key plays for the Jaguars, which the Chiefs defense will have to try to stop.

“Trevor Lawrence has made a lot of progression throughout the years, and he’s made a lot of big throws when the team needed him,” Jones said. “They have a very great, cohesive group that is playing well together right now, so it’s a challenge for us as a D-line and a defense to get after them.”

The Chiefs are coming off of two wins against the New York Giants and the Baltimore Ravens, making their record 2-2. So far, the Jaguars are 3-1.

It’ll be a big opportunity for the Chiefs to keep their momentum going after their home win.

Kickoff is 7:15 p.m. Monday at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville.
