Parsons’ Unstoppable Performance Against the Cardinals Comes With a Bold Dig That Has Fans Talking About Jerry Jones.QQ

dge defender is clearly not happy with how the Cowboys treated him on the way out, and his high-level play for the Packers is the best possible answer.

When the Dallas Cowboys traded Micah Parsons away, part of the narrative owner Jerry Jones tried to sell was that the star edge defender was not good against the run. Well, Parsons fired back at Jones after a great performance in the Green Bay Packers’ win over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
Not only did Parsons generate 10 pressures with three sacks, but he was also effective against the run. He had a holding penalty (finally) called on a run play, and he had the second-best PFF run defense grade (81) on the entire team, just behind Colby Wooden.

“Yeah, in the run game, yeah. So I’m pretty decent in the run game,” Parsons said.
Ironically enough, the Packers’ run defense has been much better than the Dallas Cowboys’. Albeit imperfect, Green Bay is 15th in success rate against the run, while Dallas is last — even with Kenny Clark in the mix.
Why Parsons is paid like he is
When the Packers traded for Parsons in August, the team gave him a four-year, $186 million contract extension. While run defense is impactful, the Packers paid Parsons like they did because of what he does as a pass rusher. The Cardinals game was a big showing of how he can be a game-changer. Among the sacks, the biggest one came on the Cardinals’ final offensive drive.
“When it’s time to win the game, something just switches, and that’s what we practiced this week,” Parsons said. “We had a clean two-minute in practice this week, and then we had a clean two-minute in the game. And the one before half was rough, we got it fixed, and we’re really glad we finished that one at the end of the game.”
It wasn’t a perfect performance by any means, but the Packers closed the game in the fourth quarter.
“This is everything we said we wanted to be,” Parsons added. “And we had our moment, and we just hit the engine. That was just about how I came to play for four quarters. I’m glad that we finished stronger this time.”
