Taylor Swift Fans Detect Ruthless Shade Toward Travis Kelce’s Ex in Romantic Song About Her Fiancé.NN

Did Taylor Swift make a few digs at Travis Kelce’s ex on her new album? Swifties sure think so.

After the “Life of a Showgirl” was officially released Friday, fans took to social media to comment on specific lyrics in the pop superstar’s track “Opalite” that appear to reference Kayla Nicole.

“TAYLOR SWIFT JUST CALLED KAYLA NICOLE TF OUT IM LIVING FOR TS12 #thelifeofashowgril,” one fan wrote on X, while another added, “Opalite- sweet song and the Kayla digs are savage.”

The line in which Swift, 35, appears to reference Nicole, 33, says, “You couldn’t understand it, why you felt alone / You were in it for real, she was in her phone / And you were just a pose.”

The lyric appears to imply that the “Pre-Game with Kayla Nicole” podcast host was with Kelce, 35, for clout. The former couple made several red carpet appearances together in the past.

resurfaced video also shows Kelce once complained to Nicole about being on her phone too much.

The pair started dating in 2017 after they exchanged a few flirty interactions via Instagram before Nicole finally slid into Kelce’s DMs on New Year’s Eve. Their relationship was on and off for five years.

Since the Kansas City Chiefs tight end began dating Swift, however, Nicole has been frequently asked about her past romance with Kelce.

In January 2024, the “Special Forces” alum shared on a podcast that she is “attracted to men in positions of power,” though she was done dating athletes.

She added at the time that she would “love” to date an executive of a record label or a movie producer so they could have date nights at sporting events.

In May, Nicole hit back at those telling her to “get over” their breakup, saying, “Life handed me lemons and I made a lemon martini out of it and that upsets people.”

Swift had never publicly spoken about Kelce’s ex-girlfriend, so it appears she finally took the opportunity to address her on “Opalite,” which is a track believed to be mostly about Kelce.

The biggest clue is that the NFL star was born on Oct. 5, and his birthstones are opal and tourmaline.

“Opalite,” however, is not the only “diss track” on the pop music album, as many Swifties also think that “Everything Romantic” subtly jabs Charli XCX.

In particular, fans called out the lyric “I heard you call me ‘Boring Barbie’ when the coke’s got you brave,” which appears to reference the British artist’s alleged drug use.

Neither Swift nor her rep has confirmed who the inspirations were for her cutting words. Page Six has also reached out to Nicole’s reps for comment.
