In a rare twist Joy Behar sides against her own party sparking outrage over the Comey controversy.NH

Joy Behar, co-host of ABC’s The View, has expressed agreement with President Donald Trump’s assertion that former FBI Director James Comey may have violated the law, a rare point of alignment with the president. The Department of Justice confirmed it is actively reviewing potential charges against Comey, spurred by Republican allegations of inconsistencies in his testimony regarding the 2016 Hillary Clinton email investigation.
While some defend Comey’s actions during the probe, Republicans have intensified calls for legal accountability, citing conflicting statements from former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe.
Behar voiced her disapproval of Comey’s handling of Clinton’s case, stating, “You know what, I don’t like Comey. I agree with Trump on this one. I don’t like what he did to Hillary.”
When co-host Sara Haines asked, “So you want him to be prosecuted?” Behar clarified, “I’m just saying. But I rarely have something I agree with Trump on. So, this is one thing.”

Trump has publicly pressed the Justice Department to pursue charges against Comey, with officials reportedly exploring potential legal avenues for prosecution.
Republicans have challenged Comey’s 2020 testimony, particularly his statements on unauthorized leaks, pointing to McCabe’s claim that Comey permitted him to discuss the Russia investigation with the Wall Street Journal.
Critics argue this discrepancy could constitute perjury. White House Senior Associate Staff Secretary Lindsey Halligan has reportedly pushed for prosecutors to act, and referrals for criminal review involving Comey and other former officials have surfaced.
Trump denounced Comey and others, saying, “These were corrupt, radical-left Democrats.” He added, “James Comey essentially was a Democrat. He was worse than a Democrat. I would say the Democrats are better than Comey, but there will be others. Look, that’s my opinion.”
