Cody Johnson’s 2026 Rodeo Houston show just got bigger—check out the opening acts set to steal the spotlight first. ML

Cody Johnson, the country music star set to close the 2026 Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, will be joined by Jon Pardi and Randy Houser as opening acts for his highly anticipated concert on March 22, 2026. This star-studded lineup has only added to the excitement surrounding the event.

Jon Pardi, who performed at the Houston Rodeo in 2025, is a well-known figure in country music with hits like “Head Over Boots” and “Dirt on My Boots.” Randy Houser, both a singer and songwriter famous for songs like “How Country Feels” and “Runnin’ Outta Moonlight,” has also worked with artists such as Miranda Lambert.

Johnson’s connection with the Houston Rodeo is strong—he has performed there five times and will be the first to headline a full concert since George Strait’s 2022 appearance. Additionally, his song “Welcome to the Show” has been the official rodeo theme since 2019.

The news follows Johnson’s recent health issues, which led to the cancellation of his remaining 2025 tour dates. On October 7, Johnson shared on Instagram that a ruptured eardrum, caused by a severe upper respiratory and sinus infection, required immediate surgery.

Thankfully, Johnson is expected to make a full recovery and return to the stage in 2026, promising fans a thrilling rodeo closing performance alongside Pardi and Houser.
