Jennifer Lopez Finally Breaks Her Silence on the Alex Rodriguez Split — and What Really Happened with Madison LeCroy’s DMs.NN
Jennifer Lopez reacted to rumors that she ended her engagement to Alex Rodriguez after he slid into “Southern Charm” star Madison LeCroy’s DMs.
Lopez was playing a round of “Plead The Fifth” on Wednesday night’s episode of “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” when the host pressed her on the long-swirling gossip about the Bravolebrity and former baseball player.
“The Bravoverse will kill me if I do not ask this next question,” Cohen said. “It came up at a ‘Southern Charm’ reunion a few years ago…that your ex A-rod was DMing one of the castmembers.”
Cohen explained that there was “a lot of speculation” that those alleged DMs “somehow led to your breakup,” before asking if Lopez could finally address the reports.
Lopez, 56, paused briefly to think about the question before diving in hesitantly with a roundabout response.
“You know, I really have nothing to say about my personal life anymore,” she said with a laugh.
“I feel like I’m done with that,” she added.
The audience erupted into approving applause after the singer’s coy response, prompting her to cheer, “Yes! Support!”
The “On the Floor” singer and former New York Yankee, 50, started dating in 2017. A source confirmed to Page Six at the time that they were “really into each other because they have so much in common.”
They started hanging out in public, and by the following year, they were hanging out with each other’s children from previous relationships.
After two years of dating, the pair announced that they were engaged in March 2019.
Their wedding planning was put on pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, but they appeared to still be going strong as a couple.
Things took a turn in 2021 when “Southern Charm” star Danni Baird claimed that LeCroy, 35, had FaceTimed with Rodruiguez.

An insider close to the ex-MLB star told The Post that there wasn’t anything going on between them, saying, “Look, does this mean he didn’t DM her and liked a photo or two? I guess not, but he doesn’t know her — and he definitely didn’t hook up with her.”
Cohen interrogated LeCroy on the Season 7 reunion of the reality TV show and LeCroy ultimately admitted that she had communicated with a baseball player through Instagram but never “flew to Miami” to hook up with him. (A-Rod was living in Miami with J.Lo at the time.)
In March 2021, a source confirmed to Page Six that Lopez and Rodriguez called off their engagement and parted ways due to the scandal.
“The Madison LeCroy scandal was the reason they finally broke up,” our source said. “There were already problems, but Jennifer was really embarrassed by it.”
Lopez moved on from their split by rekindling her 2000s relationship with Ben Affleck. They tied the knot in 2022 but ended their marriage two years later.
She appears to be single at the moment —though she did share on “WWHL” that her “Office Romance” co-star Brett Goldstein is “the best kisser.”
