Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert team up in late night comedy to unleash biting jokes at Trump’s expense.NH

Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel had a lot to say about President Donald Trump when the comedians sat down on each other’s shows Tuesday night, Sept. 30.
Colbert appeared as a guest on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” from Brooklyn Tuesday, while Kimmel paid a reciprocal visit to “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” with the duo standing in solidarity amid serious late-night drama in recent months. Colbert, whose “Late Show” was canceled in July, and Kimmel, recently suspended by ABC, toasted and shared stories as they roasted Trump. Both have been publicly targeted by Trump, who has been critical of their content.
Here’s what they each said about Trump on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”
What did Jimmy Kimmel say?
Jimmy Kimmel appeared on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” on Tuesday night, and was asked by Colbert:
“Did you ever think the President of the United States would be celebrating your unemployment?” Colbert asked him, to which Kimmel replied: “I mean, that son of a,” expletive.
“Mr. Son of a …”, Colbert said, as Kimmel continued: “No, I never imagined that we’d ever have a president like this, and I hope we don’t ever have another president like this again,” Kimmel said. “I never even imagined there would ever be a situation in which the president of our country was celebrating hundreds of Americans losing their jobs. But somebody who took pleasure in that, that to me is the absolute opposite of what a leader of this country is supposed to be.”
The comment references Trump’s repeated jabs at the late-night hosts. In a Truth Social post on Sept. 18, Trump called Kimmel’s suspension “great news” and said he had “zero talent.”
Kimmel had opened his show with Colbert as a guest on Tuesday night, joking, “We thought it might be a fun way to drive the president nuts.”

What did Trump say about Jimmy Kimmel?
President Trump’s post on Truth Social, in response to news about Jimmy Kimmel’s suspension, was highly critical of several late-night show hosts including Kimmel, Stephen Colbert, Seth Meyers, and Jimmy Fallon.

Here’s what he said: “Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done,” the post wrote. “Kimmel has ZERO talent, and worse ratings than even Colbert, if that’s possible. That leaves Jimmy and Seth, two total losers, on Fake News NBC. Their ratings are also horrible. Do it NBC!!!”
Trump has also threatened to sue ABC for bringing “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” back on air.
