Darius Slay stuns fans with a bold move toward a rival team that could secretly pave his way back to Philadelphia this season.QQ

Darius Slay is making it difficult for an AFC contender to add him to their roster.D

The Buffalo Bills claimed experienced cornerback and former Super Bowl champion Darius Slay off of waivers this week after he was released by the Pittsburgh Steelers. The team and player agreed to part ways, as Slay has dealt with multiple injuries this season. The Steelers went in a different direction, opening the door for a Philadelphia return for the defender.
The hopes of that seemed to wither once Buffalo was in place to add him to their roster, but that has now taken a turn. Keep in mind that the Eagles did place a claim for Slay, but Buffalo had the priority in the waiver claim process.

Darius Slay is considering his playing future after getting claimed by Bills
Via Adam Schefter, Darius Slay will not be reporting to Buffalo. Instead, he is going to take some time to consider his playing future. He is currently undecided if he will keep playing or choose to retire, according to his agent Drew Rosenhaus.
This decision from Slay could mean that he would prefer to play for a team outside of the Bills or has had a sudden change of heart when it comes to continuing his career. If he chooses to keep playing, we may see him request to not join the Bills in hopes of a return to Philly. That’s just a possibility, though, as Buffalo does retain his playing rights as of now from the waiver process.
“Darius Slay had struggled recently and was a healthy scratch by the Steelers on Sunday. He’d already said this would be his last NFL season. A decision on whether to play again, or not, probably won’t come before next week.” — Tom Pelissero
Slay struggled to a 58.3 coverage grade from Pro Football Focus with the Steelers this season, but that was alongside a depleted and somewhat unproven CB group with Pittsburgh. His play could improve given the correct situation for the remainder of this campaign. Of course, that is if he decides to keep suiting up.
The former Eagles CB is 34 years old.
