Travis Kelce Doesn’t Hold Back on Browns’ Controversial Call with Shedeur Sanders and Fans Are Already Reacting.QQ
Unlike Shedeur Sanders and the Cleveland Browns, Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs are coming off a loss in their last game. Kansas City’s playoff hopes took a significant blow on Thursday after their troubling 31-28 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. The Chiefs fell to 6-6 and are now in serious danger of missing out on the postseason entirely.
The 3-8 Browns, on the other hand, have nothing more to play for this season. While they haven’t been officially eliminated from the playoffs yet, this team will need to look ahead to 2026 for a potential return to the postseason.
This development was one of the reasons why head coach Kevin Stefanski decided to give Sanders his first career start in Week 12 against the Las Vegas Raiders. This has been a long time coming, and Kelce has made his opinion of the decision extremely clear.
Sanders made his NFL debut in Week 11 as QB1 Dillon Gabriel suffered a head injury against the Baltimore Ravens. The Browns still lost that game, but Sanders was able to do enough to earn himself a start in Cleveland’s next contest. This is despite the fact that Gabriel had already been cleared from the league’s concussion protocol.
Sanders led the Browns to victory in his first career start, registering 11-of-20 completed passes for 209 yards, one touchdown and one interception. It wasn’t exactly a mind-blowing performance from the 23-year-old rookie, but it was more than enough to get Kelce hyped.
“Talk your [expletive] Shedeur, let’s [expletive] go,” Kelce said on a recent episode of his “New Heights” podcast. “My dog goes in, gets his first start, gets his first dub. Let’s [expletive] go man.
“The 45th starting QB for the Browns since 1994. First Browns QB to win in his first official start since 1995. Cleveland’s been waiting for this. We’ve been waiting for this.”
Kelce clearly agrees with the Browns’ decision to let Sanders loose. It took Stefanski 10 weeks to do so, but as the four-time All-Pro tight end indicated in his statement, it was worth the wait.
The Chiefs star runs his podcast with his brother, Philadelphia Eagles icon Jason Kelce. The brothers hail from Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and have been long-time Browns supporters.
“I cannot wait to watch this week, that is for damn sure,” Jason Kelce said. “Brian Clark said this, which I thought was really good. So I’m going to steal it. In one game Shedeur showed them more than they had seen really in any of the games with Gabriel, right?”
“100%,” responded Travis Kelce.
“And that’s not a shot at Gabriel,” Jason Kelce continued. “It’s just the reality of it. They had at least a big play. It wasn’t like he was out of this world. He was like 11 for 20 or something like that. Didn’t have amazing stats, but he made a couple of big plays. And for a first start, won the game and had some pretty good success. So now we get to see it again.
