Coach Brian Daboll tried to rush the concussion evaluation process, and now he may pay dearly for it.
The NFL is reviewing an incident concerning the concussion protocol compliance issue, which occurred after Dart was hit hard on a play and had to go inside the blue medical tent, per ESPN.
Daboll was seen poking his head into the blue medical tent during a concussion evaluation of rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart. Head coaches are not allowed to enter the tent for obvious reasons.
On Thursday night, Jaxson Dart was smacked hard toward the end of the third quarter of the team’s 34-17 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. After staying on the field for some time, he would eventually get up and jog to the medical tent for evaluation.
Not only was Daboll peaking inside the tent, but he was also spotted engaged in a brief but heated discussion with one of the team’s physicians. His actions are a no-no.
The league’s review will be conducted jointly with the NFLPA under the parties’ collective bargaining agreement.

The Giants got a huge win on Thursday night against the Eagles, but it might come at a huge price due to the actions of their head coach.
Late in the third quarter, with the Giants holding a 10-point lead over the Eagles, Jaxson Dart took a huge hit that kept him on the ground. He was taken to the blue tent for a concussion evaluation.
Daboll, who wanted his starter back in the game after watching Russell Wilson throw an incomplete pass, continued to poke his head into the tent to see how long things were going to take. Coaches aren’t allowed in the blue medical tent for a reason.
Daboll addressed the situation following the contest and made sure to apologize to the team’s doctors.
“If you’ve ever been on an NFL sideline, there’s a lot of emotions,” Daboll told reporters, per Pro Football Talk.
“There’s a lot of emotions. And I certainly am an emotional guy. I apologized directly to our team physician. I just wanted his ass out there if he was OK. But I wanted the process — like, we were getting ready to go for it on a potential fourth down. I would have burned a timeout if he could have came out there. So I was asking how long is it gonna take?
“So, again, you want your guy out there, not at risk of anything else. But, you know, he came out. ‘I think he’s gonna be good.’ I’m like, ‘Is he gonna be good or not? I’m gonna call a timeout on fourth down and go for this son of a bitch.’ You know what I mean? So, I love our doctors. . . . I apologize. I was in the wrong.”
