Willie Nelson quietly rolled out a new Christmas track, “Christmas Love Song” — and fans are wondering if this becomes his next seasonal classic. ML

Legendary country musician Willie Nelson recently released a brand new holiday-themed track, called “Christmas Love Song.”

Released via Sony Music’s Legacy Recordings, the country ballad finds Nelson putting his signature storytelling vocals on display as lyrics capture the spirit of Christmas.

“This is my Christmas love song to you / It ain’t a lot, but every word of it’s true / It don’t sparkle or shine, but it’s one of a kind / And I put my whole heart into / This Christmas love song to you,” Nelson sings in the chorus.

The holiday track was written by Bill Anderson, along with Bobby Tomberlin and Marv Green.
“Christmas Love Song” joins Nelson’s previous holiday offerings. His RIAA platinum album, Pretty Paper, was originally released in 1979 after Roy Orbison‘s performance of the title track became a hit.
